subcritical mass
ikikritinė masė statusas T sritis apsauga nuo naikinimo priemonių apibrėžtis Mažesnė už kritinę skylančios medžiagos masė. Branduolinių užtaisų skylančios medžiagos masė visuomet turi būti ikikritinė, kitaip gali įvykti savaiminis branduolinis sprogimas. Tai pasiekiama mažinant skylančios medžiagos tankį (implozinis atominis užtaisas) arba ją suskaidant į kelis gabalus (patrankinis atominis užtaisas). atitikmenys: angl. subcritical mass rus. подкритическая масса
